The DIY mentality is still much in evidence across the whole arts, education and culture projects at Boom 2008. We’re sure that some of the most exciting breakthroughs of this Boom will come from the artists that are crosspollinating their aesthetics with other art forms – be it in paint, installations, music, performances or theatre. But there’s a whole army of poets, activists, enthusiasts, to name just a few, following in close pursuit.
So, look out for the novelties, watch out for the genuine arts and free expressions. You have all five senses for this purpose! We know you’re curious about what will happen at Boom so we start now to announce some of our invitees for Boom 2008.

Urban Edible Gardens and Soil Ecology (31st May to 2nd June)

On the other hand Groovy Beach will feature funk, dub and reggae in the afternoon, progressing into dubstep and breaks and late at night will turn into minimal, neo-trance or deep techno. It is a place for crosspollinating some of the newest and most genuine approaches in modern electronic music.
The German duo Extrawelt is performing in the Groovy Beach alongside other cutting-edge acts such as Exercise One, Paul Ritch. Moreover in the Groovy Beach we’re preparing the biggest gathering of dubstep and 2 step ever developed in Iberian Peninsula within a festival. Stay tuned…

Public art in Boom is enhanced by the magical installations and 3D imagery by projects such as Kaleidoscopik Creature or Sagaz Corp. Visual Farm and Laborg are some of the artists that are presenting cutting-edge bio-electronic imagery. Boom is also showcasing new levels of graffiti and street art: there’s a transatlantic dialogue being developed in Idanha-a-Nova between Ram and High Raff.

Two digital download versions of the BOOM 06 movie are available, one in near DVD quality, which can be watched on computer or easily burned to a CD or DVD, and a portable version for watching on mobile players like iPod™ or mobile phones.

Community and new paradigms are conceptual frameworks to be developed in a wide programme of lectures, presentations, workshops and a Visionary Art Gallery.
The Liminal Village will also host Paradigms Film Festival, a new project showcasing independent and activist cinema.
