Practical Tips For Those With A Vehicle
If you come by car there is a pre-parking lot. In recent years there was a long queue in the main road, and for this year we found a solution to avoid it. So there is a new parking before the entrance so that all cars can acquire their entrances without being in the main road. We also suggest you to avoid drinks and out of the limits speed as there will be police controls before Boom in the main roads.
No Pets In Boom 2008
In the past, we have had problems with dog bites and pets suffering from extreme heat and dehydration. There were frequent cases of noise anxiety and leshmaniosis as well. All this forced us to make a decision: Boom is now a pet-free festival. There is no kennel – due to a problem with legislation – and all dogs are forbidden in the festival area. Please think about your dog, don’t bring it to Boom 2008. More info here.
What To Find Inside Boom
There is free potable water. In the bars you can also acquire mineral water (both still and sparkling). We are preparing more than a hundred compostable toilets. There are two types of toilets: one for urine, one for solids. Please respect the conditions and cleaning of this equipment. Clean toilets are essential to the well-being of everybody while in the festival. If you need to escape from the festival to the nearest village (Idanha-a-Nova, 7km distance) you have shuttle buses operating all day long. There are also phone rechargers. The shadow covering also expanded so that you can enjoy the Southern European climate with a bit more comfort.
Have Fun While Camping In Boom
The camping in Boom 2008 has a novelty this year. In the Boom Shop you can purchase tents, shadows and sleeping bags, so you don’t have to bother to travel with extra-weight. Come light-weighted but, please, don’t leave your tent behind when you go. There is a community kitchen in the camping. Finally we must point out some forbidden issues: it is now allowed to camp in the car park – due to its physical dimensions; glass is not allowed within the artistic areas of Boom – due to the extreme hot, glass and sunlight maximizes the risk of fire on dry soil; and making fire is not allowed.
Environmental Behaviours For A Clean Boom
Boom Festival has been developing many projects on sustainability. We take responsibility as an environmentally conscious festival very seriously and work towards becoming environmentally sustainable. Every Boom participant needs to be aware of some eco-behaviours: You must aim at a maximum level of waste recycling. Do not pollute the lake. Use the different toilets and showers with awareness - clean toilets and showers are essential for a positive festival experience.
